See Rock City — A Southern Classic

If you've lived in the Deep South for any length of time, you've most likely seen vintage barns with the phrase "See Rock City" painted on the roofs—a true Southern classic!

I remember seeing them as a child, mystified at the wonder that must be Rock City. I imagined that it must be some kind of special place, akin to the Emerald City from the movie Wizard of Oz. I didn't actually get to See Rock City until I was in my mid-30s.

It was every bit wonderful, with stunning views for miles. And my hopes for finding kitsch were not dashed in the least! In fact it was over-the-top, featuring more gnomes than one could count. Seriously, if you have not seen Rock City, you owe it to yourself to go there on a crisp Fall day to enjoy the colors, along with the experience. You won't be disappointed! Cards and prints of "See Rock City" are available in my etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/AmandaBrannonArt?ref=hdr_shop_menu

Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can
do nothing.
