My (not so) Dark Secret
I was afflicted with a rhubarb obsession for about 3 years, resulting in a 168-page rhubarb cookbook. You can laugh all you want, but it wasn't pretty. My kitchen was FILLED with half-eaten rhubarb this and rhubarb that. My gas bill went up as my obsolete oven strained to keep up with the demand of baking hundreds of pies and baked goods. Then there was a certain insecurity with my friendships which settled in: did they really want me for me or did they really just want my pie? Either way, it didn't matter because I HAD to do something with all that rhubarb. Really—that's how it all started. I had a giant patch of rhubarb going to waste and I was determined to make good use of it. And I did!
I just have one favor to ask of you. Please, for the love of God, do not share any rhubarb recipes or desserts with me. It's official: I'm over rhubarb and I've moved on to new obsessions which I am happily writing about. But do let's keep in touch. I'm always tickled to learn about your own adventures with rhubarb.
